CHELSEA: Offers Torben Rhein (16-year-old) Bayern youngster professional contract from 2020

Torben Rhein, Bayern Munich youngster, has been offered a professional contract by Chelsea – The 16-year-old is one of Germany’s best youngster after representing his country’s Under-16 side five times, scoring once – Rhein’s deal with Bayern Munich expire in summer of 2021 Chelsea have reportedly offered Bayern Munich youngster Torben Rhein a professional contract commencing after their transfer ban in 2020.

According to UK Sun citing Sport1 report, the 16-year-old attacking midfielder’s current deal with Bundesliga giants will expire in summer 2021, but Chelsea are keeping vigil on his progress.

At the last count, Chelsea want Rhein in the first team as soon as possible, but Bayern see him as one of the best legs to one out from the club’s youth system and plan to move him to the U19s this season.


Rhein netted 12 goals and picked up four assists for the U17s last campaign. The Stamford Bridge dwellers are currently barred from signing any players until next summer after FIFA’s two-window transfer ban earlier in the year. At the moment, Chelsea have launched an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland, challenging FIFA’s ban following a probe of the club’s transfer activities’ involving foreign players under the age of 18

Bayern spent the last January window attempting to land the Stamford Bridge club’s top young talent in Callum Hudson-Odoi. Earlier, reported that Callum Hudson-Odoi has committed his future to Chelsea for the next five years in a deal that will see him earn about £100,000-a-week at the club. Up until when he agreed the deal, German League champions Bayern Munich have been on his trail with the hope of luring him away from the Stamford Bridge before the start of a new season. It would also be recalled that the 18-year-old was said to have told the London club he wanted out of the club in January.
